Bunun yanı sıra ağlamanın fiziksel ağrıların azalmasında etkin rol oynadığı da kanıtlanmıştır. Ağlamanın fiziksel ağrıları gidermesinde ki etkisi ise gözyaşları ile birlikte salgılanan endorfin hormonundan kaynaklanmaktadır. Endorfin gülerken de salgılanan bir hormon olarak bilinmektedir. Salgılandığı zamanlarda ise beyne gönderilen ağrı sinyallerinin önüne geçerek daha iyi hissedilmesini sağlamaktadır.
